Our Story, Still Being Written.
For Anji and Ryan, Studio Tattoo's history is something they put to work every day. The knowledge passed down through Danté shapes how they approach a design, solve a challenge, and care for the person trusting them with their skin.
Danté, the Grand Dame of Las Vegas tattooing, built the studio's foundation beginning in 1983. Her mentor, Don Nolan, remained a guiding light throughout her career. His influence and her years of experience became part of the education she shared with Anji and Ryan.
It took cancer in her eye to pull Danté out of the tattoo game. She survived, but her depth perception meant stepping away from tattooing. As we say in the studio now: It's all fun and games until someone looses an eye!
Today, Anji and Ryan carry that sacculated knowledge forward while continuing to learn, explore, and develop their own work. Each bings an individual perspective, grounded in the lessons Danté taught them and strengthened by their own years behind the needle.
That experience helps them ask better questions, recognize what a design needs, and guide clients towards tattoos that work on skin. Every new piece is an opportunity to apply what they know and keep growing as artists.
The conversations, laughter, and trust built the way remain part of the studio's character. Anji and Ryan are proud of where Studio Tattoo began-and excited about the work and stories still ahead.
Anji
The goofball of the shop, Anji, enjoys making beautiful tattoos as much as making people laugh. Highly skilled in portraits and mastectomy 3D areola replacement! She has dedicated her life to making her style match the need of her clients. From "Fine Line" to "Neo-Traditional," "Boho," to "black and gray," Anji is constantly educating herself in the newest technology and styles. Tattooing since 1999, having apprenticed under the infamous Dante, Anji proudly forges forward with her previous student and now husband Ryan at her side, excited to see what comes next.
Ryan
Not many people can say that at 7 years of age, he knew what he was going to be when he grew up, but Ryan can. Upon seeing his first tattoo, he set his sails for the world of tattooing and did everything to make it happen. Ryan began tattooing after a lengthy apprenticeship under his now wife, Anji, in 2003. Fine-line Architecture designs to Bold Polynesian Tribal, Bright Bold Colors to Smooth Black and Gray; all styles inspire him. People from near and far seek him out for his strength in the unique style of Trash Polka, and he was one of the first to bring that style to the Vegas Valley. Ryan, known as the "Machine Whore” of the shop, can always be found reading up (and sometimes stalking) the newest information on the best new equipment and info available.
